sprinklets
can you hear the laughter?
childrens voices, across the grass. splashing water and woops of joy.

and i close my eyes. and let the sound wash over me, as the sprinkler is picked up by an errant child and my own screams take over for just a second. drenched and dripping, having too much fun to worry or scold that my camera could be ruined. and i snap snap snap, wishing i could remember to record the sounds and not just the images. or maybe i'm just having too much fun. so i trust the sounds will remain within me, and them. and enjoy the camera at my hips. the thrill of the madness as it is part of the visual action. and i inhale the gigglemusic and store it. in my mind.
next time i'll take WAV too ;)

Look Waaaay Up...
I take a lot of self-portraits - my family thinks I'm quite stuck on myself. I tell them, "Hey, when you're this good-looking....!"
Truthfully, though, I take a lot of these "upward" shots of me simply because it's most interesting to see what appears ready to fall on my head on my Walk-Abouts. It reminds me of trying to navigate by "walking on the ceiling" when I was kid, with a mirror held out with the ceiling's reflection being my "floor".

From the desk of Canadian Mark
Canadian Mark here, *grin*, on the "It's all gone Pete Tong" site, at long last. I've been secretly hoping for credentials to get in here for some time now. A big hat-tip to The Queen for providing me with an invite. Enough of these gushy words, though - this is a photo-blog of sorts, is it not?
On with my first entry in this weird field of experimental point-and-click-without-looking photography....
